Teacher's Edition, Student Workbook, & complete Trilogy available
I have never been more excited than to be able to announce the addition of Amelia Harper's fabulous literature analysis of J.R.R. Tolkien's famous Lord of the Rings trilogy to our BRAIN-athon Emporium product line!
Literary Lessons from The Lord of the Rings offers highschoolers a full credit course that offers fill-in-the-blank summary sheets (with page references for the compatible paperback or hardback versions of the trilogy), vocabulary exercises, literary devices, tests, quizzes, comprehension questions, writing assignments, and Unit Studies covering Tolkien, CS Lewis, Arthurian Legends, Beowulf, Shakespeare, Hobbit & Elven poetry, and more! She intricately weaves in additional notes from Tolkien's letters, notes, and other books to give fullness to the story of the Fellowship that has been loved by many.
Your highschoolers will walk away with a better understanding of Tolkien the professor, writer, linguist, and lover of Middle Earth. They will also see how Hollywood license lends itself to shortcuts, character substitutions, and other liberties that will strengthen your students' appreciation for the written word directly from the author's pen over the theatrical freedom that is moviedom.
So get ready to enter Middle Earth, join the Fellowship, and fall in love with reading Tolkien's LOTR Trilogy.
NOTE: My 10 year old joined us with his own workbook. While I did not assign him some of the more intensive writing assignments, he completed all of the workbook activities, did a few of the writing assignments that he insisted on doing, and read the entire trilogy. Thanks, Amelia!
